Sasha's Friday Diary

Hello my friends and welcome to another Friday. As we embark on another weekend, I have some news and information I feel the need to share with you. First Petfinder.com http://m.petfinder.com/ is a site that is near and dear to my heart. My Mom found me there and I found my forever home. They send us newsletters and we would like to share some of the information with you.

Not all of our pet friends out there are easily finding homes. To help with this there is a special day coming in August:
:
A "SPECIAL" DAY Big black dogs. FIV+ cats. Senior pets. Special needs pets. Many factors can make a pet seem "less adoptable." To promote these animals, Petfinder has designated August 12 as "Adopt-a-Less-Adoptable-Pet Day."

Mom and I like this, so even if you are not interested in adopting right now, maybe you can pass this on to a friend or just have really good thoughts and paws crossed that these special pets find homes. We all need a home as you my friends well know.

Angels walk among us. You won't have any doubt when you read Opie's story. First, a good Samaritan rescued him on a cold January night, then Debby at Short N Sweet Dog Rescue nursed him to health, and finally Lori adopted him, a dog that wouldn't win any beauty contests. They all saw beyond that to his beautiful soul. Another angel is Betty, who adopted a blind Dachshund, Phoebe. We honor everyone who adopts a homeless pet, but special thanks to those of you who open your hearts to "less-adoptable" ones.

My friends, I hope you have enjoyed these random thoughts. I have been resting in my tunnel, just having some "me" time and looking forward to a nice weekend. Mom's back continues to bother her, so she can't play with me very long, but I am attending to her and doing my best to pass the time. God bless you all.

Look what my friend Sugar at I need a Sugar fix gave me! Thank you Sugar. Please go and visit Sugar's cool blog. Sugar is such a cutie and has fun stories to share from her forever home. She was rescued and is in a home full of love now. We love Sugar and all of our friends.

I recently listed 7 things that you might not know about me for the award at the top, so I am going to just do the 2nd award. The rules for this one are: Name 7 things that make me awesome. Wow thats going to be fun.

1. I am a shih tzu and that is awesome.

2. I was rescued and had lived in 2 other homes before my forever home now.

3. I am my Mom's constant companion, whatever room she is in, I am there with her.

4. I am very protective of my family and bark at anyone who comes near them.

5. If my Mom goes out in that big riding car thing, I will lay by the door that she left from and stay there until she comes home.

6. I brush my own teeth everyday with a junior toothbrush, both sides up and down. If my Mom can ever figure out how to put a video on here, you can see.

7. I can pounce things like my toys just like Simba in The Lion King. I lean back with my back arched and leap forward attacking the unsuspecting toy ha-ha, take that you toy. My Mom has a video of this too but oh well.

I would like to pass this on, I tried to spread the love to different doggy bloggys than Sugar picked and different ones than I picked the last time. That way the love gets spread more and more.

Look what Dory gave me!!

My friend Dory(and Bilbo too I think, sorry Dory)gave me this very cool award. Please go and visit them atDory's Backyard . Dory is soooooo cute(Bilbo too, sorry Dory) and they have so much fun on their blog. Go and visit NOW BOL BOL. Thank you so much, I love me my Dory(and Bilbo too, sorry Dory).
Heres the really cool part, there is only 1 rule!! Paws up to that my friends. I just need to name my top ten favorite blogs. Wow that will be so hard, I have so many doggy and kitty and horsey and human and just everyone friends. Mommy is having a bad day, she found out she might have a bad "dish "in her back. She has to go for more tests, but her back hurts bad and she can't sit by the puter much. If we don't keep up with all of you please understand. I don't know how she even got a "dish" in her back, did she eat one and it went to her back. I don't get it, but I will take care of her. She is going for an MPU or MRU or something like that this week, she already had a X-raymond. Love all of my friends, Sasha

P.S. She got some kind of pills she takes and when she takes them, she just gets a silly look on her face and sometimes falls asleep. I can get away with anything, giggle, giggle. So far I have been very good, but yesterday I got up on a table and found a new toy, she had been saving for me. Woohoo I scored, I rock!! I promise I will be good now(paws crossed).

I am going to visit my friend Ammo

This is my friend Ammo, he was rescued from a bad family and lives with my other kind of sister Nikki. Ammo is a youngster and loves to play. They haven't let me meet him yet because Ammo is kind of crazy wild but not mean. They are afraid he will get excited and hurt me somehow. He's very gentle but clumsy. He is a greyhound, german shepherd, weimaraner mix. A Greyshepaner.
My sister and I are having a disagreement, she thinks I need to be groomed first. I don't!

What is that, I said no, now lets get going, I want to play with my new friend. I said NO!

I have my paws crossed in defiance. I will not put up with this, I am the boss of this house.

Katy, please I am warning you as nicely as I can. The brush is evil.I am not responsible for my actions.

BOL, BOL, I warned you didn't I. Take that you brushy devil thing.GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Help me someone, I need your help. Call doggy patrol I am being brushed. Call the police. Call the ambulance. Call the President.

She won again, I am defeated. Well at least I got this away from her. Now I am off to hide this.

I will still be happy to visit Ammo and I will let you know how it went.

P.S. This is how Sashy is every time we try to brush her, we have used many different types of brushes and many different methods. We are fairly certain she was punished by her first (evil) family, because she reacts so strongly to the brush/comb. The second she even sees one she starts to bark and gets upset. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Anne( don't tell Sasha I put this on here)

Thank you for helping my Grandma

Thank you all of my friends for praying and having good thoughts for my Grandma. She got to go home and my Aunty and cousins are taking care of her. She is getting better. They will decide in 1 week if she can stay at home by herself. I am hoping very hard for her.

My Sister and I

My sister Katy and I do lots of things together. I love her very much. One of our favorite things is to go for long walks together. After the walk we go in our backyard and rest on the grass. Sometimes we share a popsicle or just some fresh water.

There are many new smells since I was here the last time. Katy doesn't let me roll in the smells, she says it makes me stinky. I don't get it, a doggy has to roll sometimes, doesn't she know that?
Ahh the cool grass against my face, the smells, the sounds, nothing like the great outdoors.

After a popsicle I like to lick the yumminess off of my nose and face. It tastes so good that way. Do you like popsicles and going for long walks?
