Hello my friends, while I was out taking a walk today I came across a p-mail message from some of my neighborhood friends. I would like to pass it on to you. Since I can't send it by p-mail I will have Mommy type it for me. It came originally from The Animal Rescue Site(animalrescuesite.com) You may have already read it but it can't hurt to pass it along again. Animal shelters always need help financially. I was thinking that perhaps if we all went together and voted for one site, we may have a chance of one site winning some money. Of course we can all go individually to our favorite sites, I just thought it might have more impact if we all banded together and kept voting daily for the same site. I don't know, please let me know what you think.
"Beginning today and each day through December 20th, you can cast your vote for your favorite participating Petfinder.com shelter or rescue group. You could help that shelter win one of three big prizes, which include a $3,000 grant for third place; $5,000 grant for second place; and a $20,000 Grand Prize grant.
In addition to those grants, we're offering a pair of $2,000 judged prizes for the most touching story and photo from a shelter. We know there are plenty of heartwarming tales of rescued animals out there, so if you work at a participating Petfinder.com rescue organization, visit our story page to share your favorite story and photo today!
The prizes don't end there. There will be weekly $1,000 grants given, plus $1,000 prizes given to top vote-getters in each of the 50 states, and Washington D.C., the top two organizations in Canada and one pet shelter or organization located outside North America. Every vote counts so don't hesitate: Start today!
Get the word out and send our $100,000 Shelter+ Challenge e-card to up to 20 of your friends and family members at a time. Spread the word, cast your vote and help animals in need today!"

Hello my friends and welcome to another Friday. As we embark on another weekend, I have some news and information I feel the need to share with you. First Petfinder.com http://m.petfinder.com/ is a site that is near and dear to my heart. My Mom found me there and I found my forever home. They send us newsletters and we would like to share some of the information with you.
Not all of our pet friends out there are easily finding homes. To help with this there is a special day coming in August::
A "SPECIAL" DAY Big black dogs. FIV+ cats. Senior pets. Special needs pets. Many factors can make a pet seem "less adoptable." To promote these animals, Petfinder has designated August 12 as "Adopt-a-Less-Adoptable-Pet Day."Mom and I like this, so even if you are not interested in adopting right now, maybe you can pass this on to a friend or just have really good thoughts and paws crossed that these special pets find homes. We all need a home as you my friends well know.Angels walk among us. You won't have any doubt when you read Opie's story. First, a good Samaritan rescued him on a cold January night, then Debby at Short N Sweet Dog Rescue nursed him to health, and finally Lori adopted him, a dog that wouldn't win any beauty contests. They all saw beyond that to his beautiful soul. Another angel is Betty, who adopted a blind Dachshund, Phoebe. We honor everyone who adopts a homeless pet, but special thanks to those of you who open your hearts to "less-adoptable" ones. And this is kind of cool:Do You Have a Happy Tail?Send us your Petfinder pet's happy ending story. It will be entered in our monthly Happy Tail drawing, and you may win a Man's Best Friend Fun Pack and a baseball cap from our friends at The Animal Rescue Site.Check this out, you can go and vote for your favorite rescue site and that site could win some money to help other dogs.Yorkshire Terrier/Maltese/ Petrealtorz now RetroDoggyRescue, this is the group that found me and we vote for them every day.Keep voting daily for your favorite group in The Animal Rescue Site $100,000 Shelter+ Challenge! Voting ends July 26.Have a good weekend everyone!!
