Sashy's College Football Friday!!!

Hi to my pals and welcome to another college football Friday with Sasha. Wisconsin has won all their games so far this season. This Saturday we are facing the Ohio Buckeyes. I got to thinking what is a buckeye?? Well I googled it and this will explain a lot:The tree species Aesculus glabra is commonly known as Ohio buckeye, American buckeye, or fetid buckeye. It derives its unflattering common name from the disagreeable odor generated from the flowers, crushed leaves, broken twigs, or bruised bark .
"A small, shiny, dark brown nut with a light tan patch that comes from the official state tree of Ohio, the buckeye tree." I hope Wisconsin does its best to beat them. I do hope it is a good game for all.

The menu for this week always begins with a cheese platter. Can you believe how she is teasing me with this, so close to my very hungry tummy? I did get a piece after the picture. 1. Cheese platter

2. Tossed salad with crushed nuts.

3. Homemade pizza(Mommy makes the best pizza and she even makes one just for me, with toppings I can have)

4. Fresh berry salad

5. Homemade peach pie

6. Plenty of nuts for everyone to eat and chew up.
I hope you all have a good weekend. Brutus is from Ohio and we tease each other back and forth about our football teams. It is all in good fun. We love each other. I think Brutus was even named after that silly looking mascot Ohio State has, my Daddy calls it the pregnant acorn. This is our weekend Brutus. Whatever happens I love you. In Wisconsin there is a saying" We may not always win the game, but we always win the party". I hope you all have fun tailgate parties.

Football Friday by Sasha

Welcome to another edition of "Football Friday by Sasha". Tomorrow my Wisconsin Badgers play Wofford Terriers. Wofford is in South Carolina and it is a non-conference game. My Daddy and Mommy will be watching it on Big Ten Network. Good luck to all of your teams this Saturday. Go Badgers!!The menu this week for the tailgate is as follows:
1. Cheese and crackers ( again this is a must for a Wisconsin tailgate party)
2. Rueben dip in a rye bread bowl.
3. Chicken wings cooked on the grill with barbecue sauce
4. Grilled corn on the cob
5. Seven layer salad
6. Cherry pie



Recipe for Reuben Dip:
1 cup corned beef, chopped up
1 cup grated swiss cheese
1 cup well drained saur kraut
1/2 cup thousand isle salad dressing.
Mix together well and put into a casserole. Heat in a 350 oven for 30 minutes, or until hot and bubbly. Put into a hollowed out rye bread round. Use the bread you took out cut into pieces for dipping, it also goes well on cocktail rye.

Thursday Thoughts

This has been a very exciting week for me. It started with my friends helping me write a story. It turned out so good, thank you for helping me. Next there was a huge party over at Tanks house. I ate so many cookies and now I am tired. So far my "layout" is working cause we still have the old floor. Yahoo. Mom said something about rotten wood and men coming to fix it next week, but I am not buying it. I am winning and that is that. Ok, Mom and big sis both say my feet look like bunny feet and they call this position "training wheels". I don't think so.

My feet are perfectly fine, thank you.

I am going to play Twix's name game. My story isn't very exciting though. My name was Sasha when my Mom and Dad rescued me and they didn't want to confuse me more so they kept it. My Mom really likes the name anyway. She says it suits me. I do have lot and lots of nicknames.

Me and My Dad by Sasha

I love my Dad, here we are celebrating his birthday last winter, I gave him a bag of my favorite treats. He shared them with me, he is so cool.

After the party we were both pretty tired and I love to sleep with him, he has a blanket that gets nice and snuggy warm when its cold out. Here we are snuggling again after I got a haircut, I was pretty bummed out that day and he was very comforting.
