FFHT June 2015

I am so excited for my first FFHT!!!

A few days ago Mommy and I went for a ride in the car. I like riding in the car so I was very excited. This was our first trip alone so I had to go inside this contraption.

I wasn't so crazy about this part, usually someone holds me, but Mommy said this is safer.

When we stopped we were at a place called "Vetlady". It seemed ok at first, lots of people were holding me and taking pictures with me and I felt very impawtant.

This lady was real nice to me and gave me lots of love until...she put me down and Mommy held me and then she lifted up me tail!!! I knew I needed a good excuse for getting out of this, but before I could even do anything, something got shoved in my...well I think you can guess the rest. I was not very happy about that.

The rest of the visit was going ok, I am very healthy and mostly up to date with something called a "SHOT".
Whew good thing I am mostly...wait what are you doing now...YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWL.

OUCHY, Mommy that hurt my butt, we have to get out of here!

Once that was done, I was ok and after some more hugs and licks and Mommy gave them a whole bunch of green stuff from her satchel we went home and boy oh boy I was tired.

I slept for a long time and my butt hurt.

I have a lot to learn, but now I know what the "Vetlady" is all about.

This is Anne, Ziggy did really good at the Vet, he didn't seem to be scared and although he did cry for his shot, he was very friendly and loving with all the staff. He is a healthy boy and the next trip will be for his "boy surgery". Maybe some of the boys out there can try to help him with suggestions for getting through it and the "cone of shame".

Ziggy Out!!

OMD Ziggy, they wasted no time in getting you acquainted with the business end of being a peeps dawg!!! Seems you did good though, and I am sure that you will not be butt-hurty for too long - you need to get it into shape for the rodeo!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

Well done, Ziggy. Those sneaky 'day's out' have to be tolerated--hope you got some treats.

SHE made a nice bed for Dui for his recovery from the Bobblectomy....but Dui bounced out of the vet's back room and was ready to play. He never needed the cone of shame either. So good luck, little buddy. Hope it's the same for you.

Going to the vet is hardly ever fun but they do give out cookies when you're all done and it's time to leave. We hope you got one, Ziggy!

Good boy, Ziggy. For the most part, going to the vet can be a fun trip - we usually get rewarded with treats. The bad parts usually go by pretty fast. We can't stop smiling at how cute you are, and don't you have such a bright and happy smile!!!

Oh Ziggy...the vet lady or vet man place has got to be the worst. If Mommy even hints at taking you there...run....and hide. Brudder Max (DaUdderWeenie) had his boy surgery a very long time ago. BUTT at least he didn't need a lampshade on his head 'cause the vet did laser surgery and you couldn't even tell he had surgery....and neither could he. Easy Peezy!

Oh Ziggy you are a mighty brave boy in an little body!! I'm very proud of you.
Even though I'm a girl ::gasp:: but I have some advice about your surgery.
I will tell you what the vet told mom when she picked me up after my
'garden-nectomy'. She should be still and NOT jump. Mom looked at the vet and said, "you know She is a cat right?"
MOL MOL Vets...can be kinda silly
Hugs madi your bfff

Hey Ziggy!
Wow, congrats on doing so well at the dogtor's place! Angel Sasha and I have the same problem of trying to bash everyone there, so you did a great job. Best to just go along and get it over with. Usually, these trips are good for some extra foodables and scritches. BOL

Ziggy, we are proud of you for being such a good boy for the vetlady. Yes those visits are something we all have to endure.
And when it comes time for that "boy surgery" we know you will do fine.
None of our kids have had to wear the cone of shame so maybe you will be lucky too!

Ziggy, sounds like you were a MAN for your furst vet visit. Grreat job! Some parts of it can be skeery and make us cry a little -- you should hear the crying Momma does sometimes when she's handing over green papers! -- but it's all for the best! And psst, if you cry and look really pathetic, you'll get an extra treat afterward!

You were a very good boy Ziggy. Luckily that doesn't happen very often so now you can enjoy yourself.

You were very brave at the Vet lady place. Glad to hear you are healthy. Walter says not to worry too much about that operation coming up. Before you know it the cone will be gone and so will some parts of your body.

Poodle At Play said...

Sounds like you did AWESOME at the Vetlady's place. Sometimes they can be kinda scary...and some of it isn't very fun...but you DO get lots of pets and scratches if you're a good boy!

Oh dear I am glad it all went well. Mom always brings our business to the vet so we don't have to deal with the butt hurts.

Good luck on your boy surgery! Mom says get lots of rest and maybe get a soft cone cause the hard cones were a pain ;)

Way to go, Ziggy!!!!!! Maybe your mom could take you to the vet just to get some cookies one time between now and your boy surgery. That way you won't think it always hurts when you go to the vet (I had to do this with my sensitive Shyla - in fact, we did it lots of times, and now she loves the vet!!!).

You are doing so well, Ziggy. Big smiles to you!

The first trip is the worst, Ziggy. After this it will all be a breeze. (Keep telling yourself that and you'll begin to believe it. Hasn't worked for us but that's what we keep hearing.)

Shiver had laser surgery. It was slightly more expensive, but not much. I remember them asking me if I wanted him to have pain medicine afterwards, which surprised me because I just presumed they would give him some. The vet said not all owners want to pay for it, so they ask ahead of time. I said yes, and they gave him a shot afterwards. I don't remember him having to wear the cone of shame. I do remember hoping that he would be calmer with all the drugs in him when he came home that first afternoon, but you would never know he'd just had surgery. He was just as hyper as before.

Ziggy, I highly rekkomends da "Comfy Cone" instead of one of dose udder kinds of cones... Momma removes da stays frum mine... and I gotta say, it are purdy durn comfy... ya can gets 'em on Amazon.

You sure is a cutie patootie!

We're glad you did so good at the vet's, Ziggy! My vet lets me lick Cheese Whiz off a tongue depressor when I have to get shots! It's GREAT and I really don't care WHAT she does when I've got cheese on a stick! I'd even settle for just the stick, but hey, if she's going to squirt cheese all over it, who am I to stop her?
Good luck with your boy surgery! Mom recommends the Comfy Cone; it's a lot easier to deal with.
Yours sincerely,
Margaret Thatcher
