I'm grounded for life I think!

I was just being curious, that is my defense. I am sitting by the back door watching for squirrels. Mommy has let me out on the deck before and I always come right back in with her. She went out to do put a cover on our outside stove cooker griller thing and I decided it was time for me to explore the lay of the land. I wanted to see the backyard on my own, I am a big girl now.

Come on Mommy please let me out, I won't do anything sassy (giggles and paws crossed behind my back) Just open the door and you will see how good I am.

As soon as she opened the door, down the stairs I went. Our backyard leads to something called a 'marsh" I don't know what that is except that it is wet back there. I decided to run like the wind to the front yard. Mommy had to run to try to catch me and with her bad back, she couldn't run too fast. By the time she caught up to me I was in the road in front of our house barking at some kids on skate boards telling them to knock it off. Mommy caught me there. Why was she so mad at me?? I was just being curious. Now I can't go out by myself at all and I am grounded, so no parties for me for a while. I will try to change her mind, cause turkey day is coming and I don't want to be in trouble for that. Can you talk to her??

Please???? I am not exactly sure what grounded is, but I know she is pretty mad at me and I don't like that at all.

licks and sniffs Sasha
p.s. can you send treats, I think grounded means no treats, shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Sasha really scared me when she ran off and especially when I found her in the road. I know better then to ever let her out there without a leash again, but in the past she has been very good and stayed with me on our deck. Lesson learned and don't worry she is still getting plenty of treats.

Oh Sasha, thank goodness your are OK!
We know you just wanted to have fun but that could have been dangerous.
At first we were worried about the marsh cos Bailey disappeared in the field at the back of our house yesterday cos it is all flooded!
But roads are even MORE dangerous!!!
We know your mom will forgive you - she is just worried cos she loves you loads.
Enjoy your thanksgiving.
love and kisses

Sasha! I understand completely. Just this week Master left the barn door open and we made a run for it. He was so mad! PeeWee came home after a little bit, but he had to come and find me because I got confused when PeeWee took off and couldn't find my way home.

I don't really understand cars and traffic and that is one reason why the people get scared because I tend to run into the street too.

So you don't have to understand it, but just do what mom says, OK? You don't want to have her crying, so you?

P.S. Momma says that when we run off she is stressed for days afterwards. Oh man! Guess because she loves us so much.

Well.... I understand why you wanted bark at those skateboarders, but streets are soooooo dangerous! Sure glad you are OK!

Sasha, we know it is fun to run and explore but it can be very dangerous. Mom only let's me go outside when she is with me. We don't live on a through street, whatever that means, and there is very little traffic but mom will call me back if I get too close to where those cars things are.

Listen to your mom and stay safe cause we love you.

Oh Sasha..our momma keeps laughing. Anyway, I think grounded is when you are not allowed on sofas or chairs. You have to stay on the floor.

OH sasha, I know how you feel. Last Spring, somebody left the gate opened and when Mom left me out at about 12:30 AM I had already started an adventure. Mom and Kim drove around until 3:00AM. It is hard to find a black dog at night. She talked to a man out walking his dog and he hadnt seen me, she called the police and everything, plus it was raining. Well the next morning, the man that she talked to found me and brought me home. I thought I was gonna be grounded but she was so glad to see me that I wasnt but I did get a GOOD talking too!! Just tell mom, that you have learned your lesson and give her that sorry look and you should be good to go in a bit. It helps if you snuggle up to her too and maybe pick up your toys!! LOL

Hi Sasha
I know how you feel. I have had some of those close encounters too.
And then mama thinks we need to have one of those talks!
Sometimes its hard for us to see the whole picture of why things are bad- but I get the feeling that moms know best.
I am so happy you are safe my sweet little Sasha.

Oh Sasha, no, no, no - don't do THAT again. Mommy is mad because she was so afraid you would get hurt or lost. Just give her lots of sweet lickies and cuddle up in her lap and we are sure she will forgive you very soon. If not, just c'mon over here, we will take care of you.

I know how you feel Sasha. I ran out into the hiway way past our feild when I was much younger and I didn't understand why it made M.O.M. cry. But she never let me out there again without that leash thing on me. Sometimes it is so hard to be good. Hugs and Wags. Mistaya

Sasha - I'm sure you think you've learned your lesson but your mum is just being very careful with you as you're so precious to her.
Anne - what a nasty experience for you. It's heart-stopping isn't it? Hope your back pain eases - that's no fun!

Oh Sasha, my human got upset with me the other day because there was a delightful plastic bag floating down the road, and I crawled under the gate of the doggy park to go chase after it.

I don't understand what the problem was, all the cars slowed down for me...

Hi Sasha!

It's a good thing all is ok with you. Don't be so sad, your mama was just worried about you. Getting out of the street can really be scary and dangerous.

Worry not, I think I heard your mama saying that you still get lots of treats.

Take care always!

Mocha & the Piappies

Hi Sasha,

What a scary thing for Mommy! Don't worry, we know that she is a softy and not keep you grounded for long but don't do that again! Okay???

You scared us too and we don't want anything to happen to our Sweet Sasha!

We were just about to head for the post office with a box of treats for the little lady. Nice to hear that she may be grounded but will still get her nom-noms.

We've been grounded too....for days on end, so now we all have to wear these pokey-prongy-zappy collars, 'cause mom says when we run, we are just too fast, and get really far away in no time! Stay safe - roads are bad news! But, way to give those skateboarders a "what-for". You are a mighty protector of your turf!

Oh Sasha...you scared your Mama. I have learned it is NEVER good to scare the Mama by running off...especially into the street!!

The good thing is, that by tomorrow afternoon you should be able to wear her down for treats...but I wouldn't expect to go out without a string for a long while!

Let us know if she with holds treats and we will make sure to send some!!

OMDOGNeSS Sasha, we are so glad to hear that you are ok and that nothing bad happened to you when you ran into the road. We understand that you just wanted to have fun and explore but it is not safe for us doggies in the road.

We hope you get off on probation for turkey day atleast.

Lots of licks--

Oh, Sasha... I hope that your Mom is ok and didn't hurt her back any worse for chasing after you! I know you just wanted to explore, but you have to put your Mom first and not your own wishes. You would feel awful if something happened to her wouldn't you? Well, she loves you too, and would feel awful if something happened to you, too!

We've been grounded before, too, for fighting with the neighbor dogs. It seems to mean that you have to earn their trust back because they are afraid if you don't listen, you will be hurt and that would hurt their hearts, too! OC
