Go Orange in April

Hi my pals, I hope you are all having a great day. I wanted to remind you that April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals month for the ASPCAhttp://www.aspca.org/. I am challenging you and your peeps to wear orange whenever you can to show support of this great cause. I am going to work on it , but for now, don't I look kind of orangy in this picture?? I also have an older picture with my orange football and also with an orange in my mouth. Will you take up the challenge with me my pals and post orange anytime in April? Hi my pals, I was doing some research on line on the ASPCA websitehttp://www.aspca.org/ and I found some information I would like to pass on to you. I know that we all know the horrors of puppy mills. I am believed to be a puppy mill survivor myself. I am lucky and have a wonderful furever home but other animals are not so lucky.

There are other ways to get puppy mill animals and one is on-line pet stores. I didn't know about those and I don't mean to be a downer but sometimes I think it is important to realize how lucky we are. Here are some ways these sites get people to buy their animals.

The Bait and Switch

In this classic scam, the website depicts dozens of photos of cute and cuddly, happy and healthy dogs and puppies for sale. What the consumer doesn’t realize is that these are stock photos used over and over again—or simply stolen from other websites. In this scam, virtually all contact is done via email, and the puppy is typically shipped without the buyer ever seeing the dog in person. The scam is revealed when the dog is delivered and the buyer is faced not with the adorable puppy from the photos, but a sickly dog, often of a different color or with different markings. Scammers count on people feeling guilty or compassionate and choosing not to send the puppy back.

Santuarcies or Scamtuaries?

Unfortunately, this next scam preys on animal lovers who want to help dogs in need. In this scenario, the puppy mill will actually set up its website as a “rescue group” or “sanctuary,” offering purebred puppies who have been rescued from shelters, bad breeders, even from puppy mills! The scam is revealed by the price tag—the “adoption fees” for these dogs often exceed $1,000! Breed rescue groups usually charge no more than a few hundred dollars—because their goal is not to make money, but to find wonderful homes for their rescues.

March Madness

Hi my pals, I hope you are all well. I have a dilemma, I love sports as much as the next dog. Football is great cause you can run around and chase and play with a ball that I can fit in my mouth(at least my football can). Baseball is fun cause you can run around and chase and play with a ball. Basketball on the other paw is not so great. I don't like it so much.



My Dad is nuts for this March Madness stuff and it is madness here. I have learned more new HBO words than ever before. My ears are stinging a little. I have to do a lot of tucking and rolling cause Daddy tends to throw things. I just want to play with my Daddy for a while and go for a walk, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. He is too busy watching the stupid guys running back and forth and throwing the ball in the air. It must be like a hot potato cause they keep passing it to each other and then pass it back.



When is March over?? I miss my Daddy.

Park Day!

Hi my pals, oh what a great day I had yesterday. It was so beautiful out and I got to go to my favorite park with my Sister and Boyfriend. Here we are ready to go. I wanted to drive but Sister said no, not today.


Sissy, what shall we do first??? How about a nice romp by the lake? Can we play chase? I can't wait to get started.

The Hunger Games

Hi my Pals, I heard about this book called "The Hunger Games" and I thought I would give it a try. I need to catch up on some reading anyway, and I want to impress Remington, who I am pretty sure loves to read.


Mommy, I thought this book was about food??? At least it is approved by PETA..."No Sashy a characters name is Peeta, not PETA". Where are the parts with Cats..."again Sash, no cats, character name is Katniss
Why do books have such confusing titles?? Why don't they just call it "The Not About Food Hunger Games"? OMD there is a character named "Caesar", could that be The Dog Whisperer??? I am terrified of him, ok thats enough for today.


On to more important things, maybe I will go back to Dr. Seuss tomorrow.

I love you my pals and be careful what you read, you can't judge a book by its title. I totally just made that up, do you think it will catch on??" Sashy, that saying has been around forever"...sigh I can't win today.

A note from my Mommy

Hi my pals, Mommy wants to take over for a
minute so please be patient with her. Blogging is my thing, not hers.

I just wanted to let you all know why Sasha got
such a short trim yesterday. She has been itching like crazy lately and benedryl only helps so much. The Vet wanted to have her trimmed all the way down, so she could see her skin better and it is much easier to bathe her like this( she hates baths..."what no I...oh wait yes I do, never mind"). She does have a minor infection and so will be on antibiotics and also prednisone. I hope this helps, I feel so bad for her when she is itching so much and I find fur patches all over from her itching. So far she has been a really good girl with her medicine which I hide in pupperoni..".what Mommy??"...nothing Sash go back to sleep. I am going to try cheese also. They did refer to her as a Senior now, but Sashy is the most active dog and believe me, she is not a Senior in spirit. She loves a good game of football and a romp in the park.

I have one other concern that I ask your prayers for. The Vet thought she heard a heart murmur. She checked her after she was very agitated from the trim, so she wasn't sure, but ordered a chest x-ray. The x-ray looked fine and the other Vet at the end of the day, didn't hear it and thought it might have just been that Sash was so upset and her heart was pounding from that earlier. They did some special blood tests and we won't find out the results until next week. We lost our first shih tzu to a heart condition and so this scares me. Sasha doesn't have any symptoms so I have no reason to think that she is sick, but extra prayers never hurt. She is my little lovey. Ok Mommy out.

Ok my pals, I am sorry for the interruption and I will be back tomorrow sometimes you gotta let the Moms win. I have been feeling great today and for some reason I am getting a lot of extra pupperoni, which is just fine by me.

What a Day!!

Hi my pals and I hope you had a good day. I did not. Here I am looking just a little scruffy but yet, feeling good about myself. Why I had to go through what happens next, I will never understand and not only was I violated but I was given a major insult.




Here I am after a grueling day which included, hair cut, nail trim, bath, blood tests, 3 count them 3 SHOTS, a chest xray , temperature check(you know what that means) and a general check up. The photo below is the only one my Mom could get as I ran for the door to get out. She tried like 6 zillion times to get a picture and there were all too blurry. Do you blame me??

Here I am forcing my Sister to drive me home!! My pals I must tell of the major insult, I referred to earlier. As they were checking me in and they saw that I am, well I hesitate to say now, but I am 7 and 1/2 years old. Do you know what they called me??? A Senior Citizen!!! OMD BOL BOL can you believe that I, Sasha, who is as active as a young pup could be called a Senior. I even had to have special blood work for it. Well my pals, do you know what that makes me???


A COUGAR!!! I AM A COUGAR. Will Remington still want me??? Will he still love me as an older woman?? I am all in a tither. Oh I am exhausted and can't think about it right now. My pals, do you think I am a cougar???


I must rest now, after all tomorrow is another day.

The Day I Always Hate!!

My pals, look at me and try to remember me as I was. I heard Mommy talking and tomorrow I am going to the Vetlady and getting my hair and nails trimmed. I am also getting a check up and you know what that entails. I will be violated and stuck and I will try to be strong. Mommy has to call ahead to make sure they have the "Sasha gloves"(shark gloves) ready and that they have enough staff. Can you believe they would have to do that for a sweet little angel like me?? I will report back to you, if I survive. Please think good thoughts and if you can, before 9:30 a.m., GET ME OUT OF HERE!!

Party time and Remington is better!!

My pals I have such good news, Remington is feeling better and will be ok now after a bit of much deserved rest. I am so relieved as I know all of you are as well. The POTP wins again, everyone together hoping and praying and now Remington will be ok. What a great community of love we have. I am so proud to be just a small part of it. Now we can all relax and celebrate.


It's time for me to get ready for a very special day tomorrow and a PARTY!!! Tomorrow, March 11 is Madi's birthday @ MADI . I haven't known Madi for very long, but as soon as I met her, I loved her instantly, she is a BFFF. I hope she has a great day. I don't have much to give you Madi, so I am sending hugs and magic bubbles. I hope you like them and Happy Birthday!!!

Remington needs POTP

My pals, my sweet Remington @ here , has been ill and he needs our love and prayers. I know he will be ok, but we all need to think good and healing thoughts for him. I am calling on my sweet pal Tweedles to climb in the magic bubble and make an emergency run. "Tweedles are you up to a quick trip, we need to spread healing bubbles on Remington?" "Of course, I am always ready to spread the love, lets go."

Full Moon

Hi my pals, my sweet Remington reminded me that there is a full moon tonight. Look there it is, I think it is pretty. But how can it be sooooo far away, I don't even try to understand these things.
