Olympic Refreshments

Hi my pals, I hope you are all checking all of the Olympic events that are going on daily. It is so exciting. We have such talented pals here in blogland. Mayor Frankie is the greatest for organizing all of this. It is so much fun!!!!!!!!
If you need a break in between your events and all the festivities, Mommy will be providing refreshments between 3 and 6 p.m. daily. Please help yourself to beer, cheetos(the food of champions and pals named Puddles), and fried squirrel with beer cheese dipping sauce.
Thanks to Puddles, she has been working hard deading squirrels and sending them over so that we have enough. I hope to see you guys soon and help yourselves and relax in between the events.
Here are a few Olympic funnies, we hope that you like.

I can't wait to tell you all about my wonderful date with my handsome and kind Remington. Details soon!

Please go and check out all the events going on

Mr. Chewy visited me!!

Hi my pals. What a great day I am having. The doorbell rang and as usual, I ran and barked and chased away the crazy guy at the door. He dropped this and ran. Jackpot!!It is a box full of Mr. Chewy treats. What kind of luck is that?
I better investigate this closer and make sure it is safe.
It helps to get your whole head in there, you never know what could be down there.
Wowza, it is just like Mommy ordered them just for me. It is everything I like. I got Tillman treats, which I love and 2 different kinds of venison jerky.
Here is something new, I love sweet potatoes and let me tell you these are super yummy. It's like jerky but even better.
OMD, I have read about these and have never had one before. It is a reindeer antler to chew on. I can't wait to get chewing on this.

I am so glad I got that guy to drop this box at my house. What a dummy, he just dropped it and ran, just cause I was barking and trying to attack him and I get all the benefits. I hope you all had a good day also filled with treats and good surprises.

(Note from Mom, thanks to many of your suggestions, I tried Mr. Chewy for Sasha and I love it so far. It was so quick and easy and they have so many varieties that she can have that are grain free. Thank you )

Hi my sweet pals. I have not been around the past few days, cause Mommy is way too "busy" to blog!! What could be more important than me and my blog...nothing I say.
Mommy I am loosing patience with you. Get up and go to the puter. Mommy...Mommy...MOMMY!
Now I am very mad, I need to know what my pals are up to. REMINGTON IS BACK!!!!!! Don't make me leave a surprise in your shoe again.
That's better, now its time to go visit my pals and get things back to normal around here. Sometimes Mommies need to be reminded what is important.

Thank You Oskar and My Love Returns

Hi my sweet pals. I want to thank my very cool pal Oskar @ Oskar  and to Iams (2012 Pet Blogging Game Sponsor) for sending me this new bandana. I hate to confess to this, but I don't really like wearing bandanas for reasons unknown. Mommy did her best with taking pictures. I had it off about 87 seconds later. I love Oskar and I really do appreciate him sending it, I will use to decorate my bed.

Next my pals, I have the most wonderful news. For the past few weeks I have become very difficult to live with. I was missing my sweet love Remington so much that my heart ached and also made me very crabby.
Great news, Remington is settled in to his new surrounding and he will be back on Monday. I am dancing again and singing and twirling and dreaming.
Thank you for the kerchief Oskar. Thank you for the good news Remington and have a great day to all of my pals.

p.s. Can you feel the love tonight???

Here is my list so far: Asta, Benny and Lily, Casey, Chloe, Darwin, Dexter, Dip Dip, Doc, Dougall, Einstein, Finn, Houston Pittie Pack, Jazzi, KC, Lily Belle, Madi, Mindy, Mitalee and Levon, Mitch and Molly, Nola, Oskar, PUDDLES DUDDLES RAINWATER,  Pigeon, Reuben, Roo, Rubie, Sally Ann, Sarge, Scribbles, Sweet William, Tim.

They are all great and I am greedy for more. If I missed anyone or misspelled, please let me know. I have entered 18 events so far. I can't wait for the Opening Ceremony.
I found this story and I dedicate my blog to"this" Sasha for the rest of the post. It is a little long, but not too bad. Please read it, I love how sometimes we get to choose our furever home, rather than our family choosing us. Sasha is a great name, don't you think??
Liz Zelandais, a volunteer with ASPCA grant recipient the Dane County Humane Society, shared with us this moving story of a dog who stopped at nothing to be with her family:
Sasha, a stately Doberman/Shepherd mix with lovely manners and the desire to please, was adopted from the Dane County Humane Society (DCHS) in 2005. But six years later, Sasha was returned, and once again she became part of the DCHS family, but it wasn’t her family. Lying in her cage she was utterly despondent.
When Stephanie Schultz, DCHS spay/neuter program coordinator, saw Sasha’s sorrow, she decided to foster this sweet dog that “just wanted to not be in a loud, crazy place.” Sasha joined Stephanie, her boyfriend Dave, and their beagle Maggie at their Madison home.
Sasha was slow to open up and continued to exude sadness. But gradually she started becoming more comfortable, and when a few days later she even wagged her tail, it was a major victory. Over a period of months, Sasha became part of the family. Stephanie and Dave discussed adopting her, but they suspected Sasha would prefer to be an only dog.
Several weeks later, a woman named Marcia, who had no other dogs, saw Sasha on the adoption website, and felt an immediate connection when they met. Marcia adopted Sasha and drove her to what was supposed to be her new home. Sasha had other ideas. When Marcia opened the car door and reached for Sasha’s leash, Sasha bolted.
Marcia and Stephanie drove for hours searching for Sasha. Despite notifying all the appropriate places, posting flyers, asking around neighborhoods and searching almost daily, Sasha was not found.
Thirteen days later, Stephanie awoke to the startling effect of an intruder at her window. She could see that two paws on the ledge and a face staring in the window: Sasha’s. Sasha was a little thinner and had a few marks on her legs, but was in remarkably good shape for the time she had been gone and the distance of at least five urban miles she had traversed.
Inside, Sasha inhaled an entire bowl of water, took possession of her spot on the couch, and exhaled with a deep sigh. Then she slept. Marcia, Stephanie and Dave agreed that Sasha had clearly indicated that her forever home was with them. In the perfect postscript to this story, a local rescue had a German Shepherd, Jezebel, that needed a foster home with no other dogs. Jezebel is so lucky to be getting Marcia as her new foster mom.

Loveys Sasha and have a great weekend, safe in your furever home.

Hi my pals. I am so excited, I can hardly stand it. BOL BOL BOL! The Olympics are almost here. I hope all my pals have gotten in shape and are ready for the games to begin.
My event that I am hosting is Boxing. Please participate, the more the better, I always say. It is open to every species and everyone. Be creative, I have my examples just to give you an idea, but you can do what you think boxing means. Please join me.
My email is Chicamom85(at)Comcast(dot)net

I must have the entries starting July 9th and no later than July 18th with no exception to this rule or I will have to send you to Mayor Frankie who will call in Sarge and there might be fines and jail time. You can avoid this by turning in your entry on time and thank you.

My event takes place on August 10th. If you have a comment you would like with your picture, please let me know. If you have any questions, please email my Mommy and she will help you.

I will be posting as often as I can to let you know how many participants I have.

This Olympic Creed (or "Olympic Message") has appeared on the scoreboard during Opening Ceremony at every modern Olympic Games. Baron de Coubertin was inspired to adopt this creed after he heard a sermon by the Bishop of Pennsylvania, at a service for Olympic Athletes in 1908. It reminds us that in our life, just like in the Olympics, winning is not the most important thing. It is the ultimate challenge for which we all struggle as we strive to be "Swifter, Higher, Stronger."
"The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph, but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well."

Let the games begin

Storms and Boombooms

Hi my pals. I hope you all had a nice 4th of July holiday. We had some fun, but there were really bad storms and the power went out. There were all kinds of bad boombooms all day outside from everywhere. It was like we were being attacked by mutant squirrels. When that was over, then the thunder boombooms came and then the whole house was dark. I was pretty scared, but Mommy and Daddy were here. I just thought of my Remington putting his arms around me and I felt safer.

I wanted to show the new toy I got for being a good girl at the Vetlady. It is a fish and I call him Fishy Fish. Do you like him? The power keeps going on and off. Mommy is trying to visit everyone, as long as it stays on. I hope you are all safe.

PLEASE click on the first Olympic badge on my sidebar. The one with the calendar of events. It will tell you everything you need to know about the events. I can't wait

p.s. Mommy and I would like to thank you for all of your great suggestions for foodables for me. We have tried many of them and so far I like them, thanks my pals. I hope it helps my itchies. Loveys to all of you.

My Pals, I survived!

Hi my pals, what a day I had today. I got up and went outside for a walk and potty, came back in and had a lovely breakfast and fresh water, the day was going beautifully.

Next... dun dun dun DUN...I got to go for a ride in the car...to the park, I am hoping...NO it was the Vetlady. I had to spend the whole day there, being tortured and beaten down..."Sasha tell the truth"...ok they didn't beat me.

 Here is before,
and after.

When my Mommy and Daddy finally came to get me, they had a nice surprise. The Vetlady said that I was a very, very good girl. She said VERY 2 times!! The girls that helped me said I was the best ever and I only got mad when they trimmed my toes(that is not my thing). They asked Mommy if she gave me drugs, the nerve of them! They were only joking of course, but Mommy and Daddy were so proud of me.

I would love to tell you more but I am kind of,

Sashy is sleeping so this is her Mommy. Sasha has terrible skin itchy problems and after much time, they have finally determined that she should avoid corn, wheat, chicken and beef products. We are hoping this will help. My daughter is shopping for some duck, salmon, venison kind of food and treats with very little filler. If you have any suggestions I would love them. I hope this helps, she is on antibiotic for an ear infection and if the itching doesn't get better, she will be back on steroids. We are hoping to avoid this as her personality changes when she is on them and the Vet is worried about her being on them too often.

 Happy 4th everyone!!

Do we have a ghost??

Hi my pals. Mommy thinks we have a ghost!!!!!!

Look closely at the window  please.

 Are you looking????

"It's just me Mommy" heheheheheh...snickers...snort...I really had her going!

I hope I didn't scare anyone.
I heard Mommy talking about taking me to the Vetlady and also a haircut, so I will act like a ghost and try to disappear so she can't take me.

Wish me luck.
